The new owner of a 16 spark in the lake I live on I see many riders driving there sparks on to pebble and sand beaches does this affect the machine in anyway and do most of the riders in here do the same
It can/will cause scratches. The biggest factor is not running the engine in 3 feet or less of water. If you rev it up, it WILL suck up whatever is below you and wear the wear ring rapidly.
didn't mean to offend, but bottom line, the ski in general can handle a little bit of scratching and abuse, but is not designed for blatant abuse. (there is a difference!)
It won't hurt anything, and rarely impacts the re-sale value either unless its really really bad.
IMO everybody needs a little scratch here and there so they can stop babying the ski and quit worrying about little cosmetic stuff on the bottom.

I agree! I've already scratched mine up a bit from beaching. I just give it a short bit of throttle in deep enough water and pull the DESS key. If I don't coast all the way in, I hop off and pull it onto the beach.
I hit a log on the ICW here a month or so back. It must have been a fencing log since it had barbed wire around it. Scratched the hell out of the underside. Soon as I got it home and dried out, and since it barely got into the hull, I Bondo'ed the two worst spots then used a semigloss black paint. It matches pretty well.
I take good care of my Ski. But it's made to play hard and I do that. Haven't seen too many Jetski shows like a car show. So as long as it's light stuff on the bottom where you can't see it, I'm not worried about it.
