Hello everyone...so i went ridin yesterday and the batery light was flasing here and there. Its a 95 xp 717.The week before it did not do this.It has a brand new battery in for the season. So when i got home i attached the flush attachment and decided to check at battery with voltmeter while running and the voltage was at 12.25 and would not budge even if i revved the engine.Any ideas??? Keep in mind it did not do this ever this season and i never jumped it...

Got water in the rear E-Box? wires & battery cables can deteriorate from saltwater electrolosis. Clean them all up at the connections and dielectrical grease and the fuses/holders.

Thanx doc for your quick response...the reg and rectifier is one unit?...is there an upgraded type or where can i get a new one? What should the voltage be at idle?12.25 seams low...

I suggest you pull the flywheel and examine the Stator for small metal bits. If you have some in there, can be cause of electrical spikes and would burn out a new Rectifier prematurely. Then install a new cover seal.
