I have read alot about this but i havent found anything about the sinthoms of a bad negative conection like a bad wire thanks to bad mantainance

So what do you think are the thigs that you can think are caused by a bad negative conection like weak starter??? or weak spark??? or low power???

What to speact and how to diagnose it

Greetings to all

The ground is the most common failure. Look for any corrosion at the various connections. Remove the wires and wiggle the ends, if they crunch and or white powder comes out of the wire, it is junk.

A poor connection will almost always give some sort of a poor performance. Often as a weak starter or a "no crank" issue.

I would agree with WFO. Officially, it absolutely could cause the ski to not reach max RPM. That said, if you have a ground issue, max RPM is the least of your concerns. With a bad/poor ground some many items simply do not have the amperage (still gets the volts in most cases, just not the amps to push the volts) that they need.

If you simply can not find the issue, I would go to the local auto parts store and buy 2 or 3 negative battery cables. Run an extra (leave the original) from the battery to the block, from the same connection on the block to a location near the starter or on the starer battery. Then see if you still have the issue.

A bad rectifier CAN limit max RPMs. Super easy to test, simply unplug it and run the ski. If the issue goes away, replace the rectifier.

ok now that i know if I start it and unplug the batery the engine will die

so if i understatn it right i should charge the battery start the pwc then unplug the rectifier and test is that ok??

Yes, the rectifier is NOT need to run the engine. It is ONLY needed to charge the battery. When they start to fail they output A/C voltage to a very minimal degree. When the A/C voltage hits other parts, they don't know what to do with it.

ok so there are two cables do i unplug bouth???

I assume one is the RED hot cable, not sure what the other cable would be as I believe it picks up its ground based on how it is bolted to the machine. That said, unplug the RED wire.

If you do need to replace it, I would run an extra ground as this specific ground is a common failure. In this case, it is grounded when bolted in place. So you would make a jumper wire that will go under a metal bolt that is touch a grounded metal part of the rectifier and then to the block or the battery..

The plugs are new changed them when bought the pwc had full service as soon I bought it new pump housing too and new impeller solas 11/19 leak test OK

Has it ever hit 7300? Assuming that prop is the proper pitch...how's your air intake look?

The one inside the intake manifold

Pics?

salt water is gonna drop r's. What's your weight? When you replaced the pump....what else changed? any pics of the pump, grate, prop?

See...it can only be a few things...

weak spark
restricted air
too much load

aside...how's your exhaust looking?

Well I am 170 pounds the pump and the impeller are new the pump is sbt and impeller is a Solas 11/19 it is new too
I am running it on fresh water in puebla México that is 7300 feet above sea level

What else can I say

okay...well part of the prob is altitude. You're a mile and a half up.

what's your rad?

go here and punch your numbers in the top....Tell us what your hp % is.

Just throwing my own numbers in...you're running pig rich because of the altitude.
