Update: Mechanic who has my GTX DI says that it is now doing everything it should do except that the plugs are not getting any fire. Says it turns over, gets fuel, coils tested and are good. Just not getting spark at the plugs. I'd love to hear if there is anything that is known to be a cause of this symptom I'd love to hear about it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I feel bad for you being stuck like this, and this isn't going to be what you want to hear after all you've been through but at this point it merits a reality check. That ski is never going to run again until you get it into the hands of someone competent and equipped with proper diagnostic abilities to help you finish the job.
Your ignition system is controlled by the MPEM and specifically done by grounds. The ignition coils, injectors, Raves, fuel pump etc. are hot all the time on that ski and the MPEM relies on inputs before it will allow the coils to fire the plugs. This illustration might help you get a better idea of what has to be present for the MPEM to send an output signal to the coils to fire the wires and plugs.
None of what your seeing here can be diagnosed without Buds, Candoo, or Sierra Stats you have to be able to reset some input parameters for a clean slate when a motor is R&R'd.
There are a host of specific diagnostic tools in that equipment that have no other alternative for testing and diagnosis, you require them to finish this job. For instance right now if your ski was here we could hook it up and with the press of a button manually fire either of those ignition coils no matter what issues the TPS's or CPS are causing. Your MPEM isn't getting the proper input parameters and until that's fixed you're never going to see a plug fire from cranking the motor over if the rest of the information from your mechanic is accurate. Aside from doing some resistance checks with a meter he's done all he can do at this point and you know the MPEM is working if it's waking up and rolling the motor over.
That doesn't mean the CDI side of the MPEM hasn't gone bad, but again without the right diagnostic tool connected to the ski you'll never know that.
The only help anyone can give you here going forward is if you buy a homeowner version of CandooPro and finish this yourself, or find a shop that is equipped to do the job.
