I'm looking to get one of Seadoo's mooring/docking systems for a 2011 Wake 155: Sea-Doo Speed Tie

Anyone know how difficult these are to install? Is it something I can do myself without any specific expertise? or would I be better off just having the dealership install it (they'll charge $120 for installation)?

Has anyone installed one of these?

I have almost bought 4 of them with the intent to mont them on the ski to use when out and about at restaurants and what not

If you have any mechanical ability the install should not be an issue.

I like the idea of them but for longer term mooring beside my boat at the marina I am unsure. I don't know how durable the dock line is that comes with these ?

Yeah, this would be used for when I'm out riding and stop at random docks for for gas, food, drink, etc...

It just seems like this would be so much faster and more convenient than doing the dance where I reach over the handlebars, lift the hood, and reach down in the storage compartment for the rope (and the storage compartment on my new ski is DEEP).

Just drift into the dock, pull the string, wrap it around the cleat...and go. Sounds easy...hope it works like that!

I just purchased one at the local dealership. I'll try to put it on myself and report back.

i hear the speed ties are great... sometimes they can be a PITA to retract as they will stop with about 4-5 inches left on the line if they dont lie the line perfectly in the spool.. the couple i played with at the dealer had that problem.

i recently switched over to this http://www.ebay.com/itm/5ft-Bungee-..._Accessories_Gear&hash=item1e7b87bf01&vxp=mtr

and couldnt be happier..it folds up nice and small and i can hide it in the glove box so i dont have to reach over..

good luck with the install !

They work great. Very simple to install. The front you drill a couple rivets out and it screws in and replace the rivets (rivets included in kit) The rear you need to drill 4 holes. Tools needed. Drill drill bits rivet gun screwdriver and some type of marine silicone. Should only take you about an hour and a half. Good luck
