Front speed tie install

I have a 2015 GTI 155 LTD. I bought the speed ties and installed the rear one with no problem. The instructions on the front installation are confusing. Anyone have pictures of the front one installed and/or offer tips on installation?

I also want to install on left side not right side. Anyone do this as well?

I don't know what a speed tie is. Can you let me know what they are for? Thanks Tom
