I am having another issue with the GTX. Yesterday, I decided to go to the lake, but before I left, I wanted to be sure the D#$! thing would start. It wouldn't. First time I tried, I would put the lanyard on, get the two beeps, then four long beeps, which I know means no communication to the CDI module (this has happened before, so I know). So I tapped on the gray electronics box with my hand. Still wouldn't start, and still had the 4 long beeps. Tapped on the box a little harder then the starter would crank but would not start assuming there was no spark. Then it went back to the four long beeps. So by now I'm pissed, so I went back into the house for a little while and when I came back out to put it back into the garage, wa-la, I put the lanyard on got the two short beeps, hit the starter and she fired right up. So I wen't to the lake anyway, hoping I would not get stuck somewhere and thee ski ran good and I experienced no further issues.

This morning I went out to the garage, put the lanyard on got the two short beeps and the four long again.

I am suspecting that the problem is with the holder relay in the gray electronics box. Whenever I experienced the problem the first time I did some trouble shooting and it lead me to that relay.

So I am thinking it could either be the relay getting flaky or the MPEM is not signaling the relay to close.

Any thoughts/ideas are greatly appreciated before I start spending money

We that sucks... With that said, you have a two choices. 1) you could drive to North Carolina and borrow a full electronics box from me and see if that works.... Kind of far though. Or 2) decide if you want to keep testing with the possibility of being stranded, or to throw parts at it. It does seem like the holder relay though. Not sure where to find one. Perhaps Minnetonka4me can help. This thread talks about it. And someone just put in a standard 12VDC relay to make it work. Also charging the battery helped one person. http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?t=299354 If you are testing, I guess you have to wait until it does not work. Then see if you are getting a switching signal from the MPEM. If so, that relay is bad. Honestly, you may be able to bypass the relay all together and just put in a switch for testing . Good luck!

I took the relay out today and tested it. It's definitely bad. I'm darn lucky I didn't get stuck out in the middle of the lake yesterday. I hooked an ohm meter across the two red leads and applied 12v to the purple and black leads. You can hear the relay click but most of the time the ohm meter reads open. I ordered a new (used) one off of flea-bay

Thanks. I saw that one after I purchased the other one. Paid $17 and some change shipped for free. We'll see how that goes

If you are talking the relay in the grey box that is quite uncommon. The 95s had a different part number and they fail commonly.

This one and it is definitely bad (sorry for the tiny pic)
