Air leak????

hi again all,

was flushing ski yesterday when all of a sudden the revs climbed to 6k and stuck there-i pushed start/stop button and nothing then pulled the lanyard and still nothing so in a panick i just turned the petrol tap off and it eventually stopped.

i started it back up just to check it would start again and it did so i turned it off.

ive been told that i have an air leak?

anyone on here have any other views?

A air leak is possible but all of the sudden when flushing??? Idk sounds a little more in depth to me But start there ans look for obvious problems

i was trying to keep revs at 3.5k (as suggested in service manual) then revs just took off and refused to drop back

defo not idle screw

Were you holding the throttle?? It should idle out of the water at 3k on it's own check to see if the throttle cable is sticking

yea was holding thrott;e slightly, throttle cable seemed to click back fine when motor is off? not tried it when motor is on though
