Acceleration Problem

I have two 95 XP'S one will take off, but not plane out. The other will not go faster than idle speed. Any ideas on what this might be? I have had them a couple of months ago and they ran great. They did run great when I first bought them. They do have the gray fuel lines. Could this be the issue?

I took off the air filters to get down to the carb on the one that only hits idle speed. The flaps are open on the other they are closed. Can anyone tell me which way is correct? I did take jet off the back and there is nothing stuck in the prop or around the shaft. Should the prop freespin or be tight with the ski off?

Grey Fuel Lines?

Since you have grey fuel lines I would start there. Replace the grey fuel lines with 1/4" black automotive fuel line. You'll need 20-25' depending on if you change the vent hoses, I didn't. 20ea. 1/4" stainless steel clamps.

Just change one hose at a time, following the original route. You will also need to clean or replace the main fuel filter and one filter in each carb. (total of 2). Also you will need to clean or replace (I would replace), the fuel selector valve.

After you do the above drain and replace the gas.
