Ok so going to test ride these tomorrow and check them over really well.

They both have 102 hours on them.

The guy has every service record on them and they were always serviced at the dealer. And compression from last service which was 10 hours ago were perfect.

Now I would like to know what on each ski should be checked out?

since they are both supercharged, do they both need rebuild kits for the chargers or is one more prone to wear than the other? I know that they have never been rebuilt and the washers have never been changed.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Anthony

Anthony, they're both due a rebuild of the superchargers in that case... figure $700 or so each. They have to be rebuilt completely every 100 hrs. That's their service interval.

Ask to pull the air intake hose off each supercharger (just takes a screwdriver to loosen the clamp) and check that the air impeller inside doesn't spin easily by fingertip... it should be VERY stiff, almost impossible to turn with your fingertips. If either of them turns easily then THAT one has lost a ceramic washer or two and the engine will have to be pulled and dismantled to find all the pieces and fix anything that got damaged by the pieces falling down thru the engine components.

Regards!

Perfect, these are the answers I was seeking. Now my next question is how complicated is the charger rebuild? I consider myself very mechanically inclined. If I do the rebuilds myself, what kind of money are we looking at? Thanks again

~ $350 or so for the rebuild kit. Not sure how hard it is to rebuild them, haven't gone further than changing the washers out on mine (I'm at 73 hrs). I've read a hydraulic press is needed (which I do not have). The kits come with instructions, I'm told. There are some people in the Seadoo community who do rebuilds for less than $100 labor and come highly recommended... PM me if you want to know more.
