A subwoofer recommendation.

I purchased this JBL MPS 1000. It's a 10 inch subwoofer built in amp.

When it arrived I though I'd send it back because the enclosure was bigger than I expected.

After scratching my head all weekend I ended up installing it.

Sounds LOUD!

Okay but we need more info probably, like what you're using it with or stand-alone?

Sure. It's a powered sub meaning it's has built in amp. I have a basic pioneer head unit with 4 kenwood 6.5inch full range speakers.

Okay, sounds sweet (attempted pun! ) . I'm curious if you don't mind I forgot to ask before and maybe seems a little silly but..... Is this powerful enough to make visible ripples in calm water?

Haha! It's still in the back yard bothering the neighbors but I'll test that once I get in the water!!!

We are thinking of doing same for our Islandia...we were trying to wrap our head around placing a sub amp somewhere and not having it rust out - but this all-in-one package looks pretty good might have to give it a try!

What are the leads on the back of that sub? RCA for a sub pre-out from the head unit? or is it just a positive and negative wire that needs to be spliced?

I thought of an amp setup as well. This package is totally sealed.

RCA IN as well as RCA Out.

Speaker line level in also.

A remote line that turns on the speaker only when the head unit is on.
