Got this SPX for free it’s been converted to premix and had a SBT motor installed many years ago and was used until the wear ring went bad in 2013. The bigger issue is the shaft log where you grease it is seized to the shaft gonna have a fun time getting that out. I’ve also already ordered a yard of marine vinyl for the seat to redo. Will also be installing a bilge pump as this one will have to stay floating in the water while my ‘91 SP will stay on the lift.0A570456-E7F5-4273-8BDA-E06C005A71D3.jpegD30444DE-A3D6-4353-A7D7-9CB16B0E3E6D.jpeg 8058E2F8-91E3-4CEB-8E79-4179A5CFB96A.jpeg

Quick update threw a battery in it and it started up and idled. Since it’s been converted to premix the oil acted as a stabilizer and kept the fuel from turning to varnish. The carrier bearing is also indeed seized to the driveshaft. I guess I’ll have to cut the driveshaft in half unless I can get the carrier bearing loose.

I had one sieze during winter storage on an spx i had. The shaft wouldnt spin in the carrier, but it still was able to be slid out the back. Pull the pump, maybe youll have the same luck.

Make sure you rebuild the fuel system and carbs. Just because it idled does not mean you will not seize the engine.
