Just got done installing new fuel hoses and going through the carbs on my new to me 99 XP Limited. I was told the bilge pump needed replaced. I pulled it out and hooked it to 12v and it didn't run. I ordered and installed a new one and it doesn't run. I e been told that with th dess met unplugged to press the start button and the bilge should run. I'm not getting any power to the plug at all. Even with the key plugged in. I don't have an openers manual yet. Is there a fuse for the circuit? If so where is the fuse box? Thanks

You need to trace the wires back and see where and how the pump is wired. There should be a fuse within the line. Which,,, if I had to guess, probably blew when the original pump went bad...

So, if you find a blown fuse, I'm thinking if you replace it that you will be good to go...

if replacing the fuse doesn't work then (not sure but).....it may have to be running for the pump to come on....some will only come on if there is water in the hull, like the Rule 500

1. there is a fuse in the MPEM
2. if you bought the correct one, it operates once every few min for 10 seconds. if it detects water (load on motor) it pumps until no load. if it detects no load, it shuts back off. there is no float on/off.

Should be a fuse like noted. Some boats have a water sensor so the pump will come on only when water is in the bilge but the switch on the panel should over ride the water sensor if you have a bad sensor.

Which fuse is it, as I have the same problem this weekend. I even put a new bilge in thinking my old one crapped out, but to no avail I had quite a bit of water in the rear after a day out (I need to replace driveline fittings).
