I am going to install my new speed sensor and I was just wounding if I need the seadoo running to do the test? My seadoo is still Winterized and I have not yet started it. If I put the battery in and spin the sensor wheel with a air gun with the lanyard key in will the speedo show speed?

The spedo sensor works on resistance. if you just spin it by hand it will register a change in resistance.
