Hello all, looking at buying the above mentioned ski. Guy said that a rod locked up on the crank. He has replaced the wear ring, brain box and all in the last year or so, and the ski is in overall good condition. Says all modes work. My question is: With this being what happened, is the bottom end rebuildable without getting in over my head? I have some fair mechanical knowledge, and am not afraid to work on stuff. Thought if I could just do a bottom end, and the top looked good, I could have a nice ski for little money. Your thoughts? Would prefer to not spend thousands on a new or rebuilt block from someone if I can have the satisfaction of doing it myself. For that, I would be better just getting a different ski all together, ya know? Thanks! Oh yeah, its a 787 engine

Personally... I wouldn't touch it. You need an engine... and with the RFI, and Di engines... there can be a bunch of VERY EXPENSIVE other parts needed. If there are any other issues... it would quickly become more expensive than the ski will ever be worth.
