My float or fuse, or something of the sorts is jacked in my baffle as i can jump my gauge and it works.

Wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to get the baffle out of a 1999 GSX LTD ski as the baffle is so conveniently located directly under the steering column... I did my 94 XP Baffle but that was in the open, i don't see enough room to pull this baffle and the tank sure wont come out. any suggestions on this one?

Column out. Then tight but just enough. I bet you have injection oil sludge goo on
bottom bafel's cap filter/screen too.

it's not too bad, you just unbolt it and let it hang to the side, you don't have to disconnect any wires, it will come right out the steering hole.

sure, I did one a couple months ago. remove the 4 bolts to the steering column, disconnect the steering cable underneath by removing the end bolt and the clamp area(a little hard to get to but not too bad), set steering asm hanging to the side, pull out fuel baffle through hole. reverse for install, I'd allow 1 hour for total job.

which wway did you tip the tank?

i unbolted the column but didnt take the steering cable off, i will try that

sorry, I forgot about the tank. unplug all the MPEM harnesses, unstrap the tank and slide it forward to line up with the steering column hole. it helps if you have an empty tank.

Ohhh now that makes sense!!!!

What about the fuel selector, how can I remove that pos to clean it out incase any residue built up in it?

score!! got it out! now to cut her open fuse is blown i do believe as i cant get an OHM reading.

how do you remove the fuel selector switch as i am also replacing fuel lines, just cleaned carbs they were :ack:

just preformed surgery and score....88 on E and 0 on full....little tiny ass fuse had to go bye bye:hurray::cheers: Thanks for the help!

The knob has a screw cover, use a pointy, remove the P2 screw, pull knob off, sometimes grab with pliers. Remove the big nut and push the valve into hull. I like to
take the nut off the separator filter bracket, pull all four lines off the bafel top, take
the carb airbox off, take the supply and return line off the carbs and pull the whole
octopus out all at once. Then I cut new line and replace one by one, and install back in ski in reverse order. I don't replace the breath line to bafel. Then I pull carbs
and go thru them and replace bad stuff. Bill

i did the carbs, you walked me through that in another post. i got the lines running back done, carbs cleaned. just removed the F1 fuse and got the baffle welded back shut. Thanks the selector knob is last to remove and replace 3 lines on it and she should be good to go!
