98 SPX won't start,no beeps

Hi,
Help ,I'm new here and frustrated . Have a '98 SPX with new battery,all contacts cleaned in electrical box,battery cables on both ends.The only thing that activates is the VTS if you hold the up or down AND push the starter button ! I can jump the starter solenoid and it will crank but no spark even when holding the starter button.
Open to suggestions.

With the info you have gave that tells me theres power to the ebox. First thing to try is a new DESS post, then a new or different key. If it isnt one of those its the MPEM.

I have used posts in stock and ready to ship

Nope...youll need a replacement.

If you have another key try it. Even if its the wrong one...if it beeps you need a new key.

I've tried that with no success.If I replace the post will it need to be reprogramed to the key and mpem ?

Nope key is programmed to MPEM, post is just a delivery device.

yup I have posts and currently have one MPEM for that model in stock right now. I would recommend sending yours for testing before buying though.
