98 speedster help

I have a 98 speedster last weekend a rope got sucked in the impeller shaft and messed up the shaft protecter does anyone know how to remove the old one i have a new one but need to get out the old thanks

There is a good section on propulsion in the manual that gives a good description on removal of teh jet pump and assembly.
