I just need a straight answer as to the proper alignment between flywheel and mag cup when going from 98 951 to 99 951 (single coil to dual coil) I have read there is a single hole shift required in one direction to get the timing proper. Looking at the bolt heads from the mag cup, does the mag cup move one hole counter clockwise or one hole clockwise?

Typically there is an index hole at the top, to which one of the two protrusions on the mag cup (for spark) is aligned in a stock setup. With the switch, where should that be?

Thanks!

Well.. I decided that I just better figure this out myself and go back to my roots.

Using my official Bombardier TDC gauge, I found Mag piston TDC.

Then I associated the mag cup protrusion in relation to the flywheel in the spot that the ignition pickup would be required. It is only a single coil setup, so it is impossible to be 180 out. Following my investigation and trying to remember exactly which way these engines spin. I came up with the following. IF you are using the mag pickup for 98 951 on a 99 engine, your protrusion should be like this picture. Literally move the protrusion one hole alignment counter-clockwise AWAY from the flywheel indicator hole.
