Just got my Seas out of storage (Averaged 30 below up here:ack: all winter) The 97 GTS started and ran great but my 98 GTX Ltd. started and went to 6000 RPM. Hit the kill, nothing, pulled the key, nothing and then hit the throttle and it died. tried to start it again but no luck. Left it for a few hours and tried again. It started right away, again to 6000 RPM then died it died on it's own.
This week I tried again and would not start. Pulled the plugs (They were dry) and checked compression and spark - All good there. Cleaned the plugs real good and put them back in. Tried to start for quite a few revolutions, nothing. Pulled the plugs and they were bone dry. Put fuel last weekend so had 3/4 of a tank, so took the filter out , bowl was full and filter was spotless. I then took the in feed line off the front carb and it hissed a bit and a couple drops of fuel came out of the line. After pissing around a bit I thought I would blow in the line and the fuel tank expanded and when I released fuel came pouring out of the line. I thought I would blow in the line again and quickly put it on the carb. Tried to start it and fired right up ran about 30 seconds and quit. No fuel in the line again. Took the line off again and blew real hard so the tank would expand a bit more and quickly put the line on again. Started it again and ran great (3000 RPM) for just about a minute and died - Yep no fuel in the line again.
Curious if anyone else has encountered this type of problem or if someone would know what my issue may be on this?
I had changed the fuel lines, clean the carbs inside and out, replaced the fuel baffle two years ago. Cleaned the raves again last year. The both seas ran great all last year.
I had taken all steps to correctly winterize the seas (Fogged, antifreeze, Jet Pump, grease ...)the whole bit.
Any help would be greatly apprciated.
Thanks Darrell
