I started and ran my ski this weekend after replacing the exhaust manifold, exhaust pipe, and exhaust cone. First start gave me a bunch of what looked like exhaust in the engine compartment, but I assumed, some oil, grease, etc... might be burning off. It ran good and there was no smoke in the ski. Took it out again and it died at full throttle once. Dropped to really low RPM when I turned hard a couple times, but would keep running. Then eventually, I couldn't get it started at all. Help?>! Where do I start de-bugging this one?

run it again. If it runs great, you got an exhaust leak, causing the ski to choke out on fumes.

If still problems, then i'd pull carbs, go thru them and replace the grey fuel lines.

UPDATE on symptoms. I put the key in and get no beeps. The dashboard lights come on and blinks 12V Low (even though the battery is fully charged). I try to turn the engine over and the dash goes to all 888888's and full gas tank indication (sort of like when you first put the key in). The thing just won't start. Any suggestions?

I will do that, but the battery will turn the motor over for 3 min straight if I wanted it to..... It just never fires the engine.

Make sure your fuel filter is clean. Start simple. Check that your getting spark and fuel. If those check out start looking into your charging system. Bypass the solenoid to see if it starts.
