98 gsx ltd 951

i just bought a 98 gsx ltd with the 951 and when i bought it i heard it run from the guy... brought it home put a new battery (brandspankin new fully charged) and i get light on my dash but wont start wont even spin the starter... i play with the battery for a min and check some wires and try to push start button again and i hear a click and like a humming noise for the time that im holding the button down but still does not even spin the starter... im all out of ideas any body have any clue... i have a 96 xp and on the neg side of battery it has two wires to connect but on the gsx i only see one is this maybe the problem? or do i have other issues? i bought a new battery cause the guy told me the battery he had in it was junk and would only hold a charge for a few min and would get like two cranks out of it...

ok i just went out and checked all the fuses they are all good the 1 in the rear and the 6 or 7 up front on the mpem... the click sounds like its comming from the seloniod but im not sure

jump the relay(solenoid). Locate the rear ebox, where the red cables come from, and jump the 2-post, that they're bolted to.

did the jump and did not spin the starter.. also checked the ground and even tried making a new ground and still did not work... checked the battery and it is good one showed 12.2 volts and the other showed 12.3 volts both pushing over 250 cold cranking amps.!!! am i looking at needing a new starter on this or is there any other ideas??
