Ok, so along side the 96XP with no spark is this 97GSX that starts and actually runs really well! However, there are a couple of little things that I'd like to address.

First, when the key is connected the guage reads "MAINT". However, the ski still starts and runs great. After running the message reads "LOW FUEL". Thing is, I filled up the tank prior to taking it out for the first time yesterday. The whole time there little caution light is lit (and I think it blinks).

Second, once the ski is running the Vertical Trim System buttons do not adjust the trim.

What should my course of action be to fix these annoying little problems? Thank you all in advance for your expert direction.

check the volts at battery while ski is holding a steady 5500rpm. The gas gauge, theres a "sticky" on how-to replace the fuse inside the fuel baffle.

VTS, open it up, and see if the wires connected to straight 12v power will turn it, if so, then i'd say the buttons are bad...either way, i got a mpem from A 97SPX, VTS ASSY, AND FUEL BAFFLE IF NEEDED........sorry for the caps.

Seadooya- Ok, What exactly is the "fuel baffle" and when you say to open up the VTS, what do you mean? I'm going to go take a look at the ski now and see if I can figure out what you're referring to... maybe there's a little box, right? -Thanks!

VTS located underthe seat at the back of hull, black egg shape thing, remove the cover and inspect/test the wires.

Fuel baffle is where the fuel lines hook to on top of the gas tank. Unplug it (has 2-pink wires) and run a jumper wire across the post inside the plug, from the mpem box, if gauge "reads", then your baffle is bad

for yuor gsx? i'll have to check the "compatability", since some have different plugs, or you can get new plugs from Autozone, make it work.
