Ok, have a 97 seadoo xp that was driving fine all last summer and the begining of this summer. I felt a little cavitation so i took the pump off and had a new wear ring put in and the impeller checked, So now here's where the problem come in. when i took the pump off i realized that i had some how pulled the drive shaft out i tried to put it back in and it wouldn't go in enough so i looked and saw that the coupler had fallen off well put it back on and went to the lake and it started good but wouldn't move just reved looked and saw that the drive shaft wasn't spinning so took it out of the water. well i realized that i had put some things on wrong so i fixed it by looking at the manual. ok now i have everything back together and i started it up but the impeller in not moving (does it need water for the impeller to move?) and , the drive shaft i can spin the drive shaft with my hand when not started, does this sound normal? i don't really know about pwc so i'm hoping someone could help. I;ve been searching this forums and have seen not post like mine and thanks in advance for your replies

First you need to add you seadoo model and year to you avatar. The seadoo jet pump is a direct drive unit that turns over aas soon as you push start start button. It is connected th toe crank shaft on the PTO(Power Take Off) end of the crank shaft. You have not aligned up the shaft properly in the pto of the engine. Use the manual you have and install the jet pump shaft back in place. The jet pump shaft will not turn freely when attached properly to the pto.

first off thanks for the reply. ok now i have been looking under the section 08 the propulsion section and am not seeing how to align i do see and have read about a tool which looks like a drive shaft. is there anyway to do this by hand and where in the manual would the alignment be if not in the propulsion section. thanks

The alignment shouldn't be off if the shaft just came out and the engine was left in place. I can't open the manuals on this computer so I can look for the proper page for you now.
