97 Speedster speedo sensor problem

My speedo has never worked and it never has bothered me, but I thought I'd give a go at fixing it. I checked the paddle wheel and it looks like somehow the wire sheared and got wrapped around the sensor assembly. My question is where is the hole for the wire to go back into the boat and from the dash, which wire is it that runs that sensor?? Thanks!

You can just get a new sensor. You can find em on ebay for like $30. It unplugs inside the hull. No need to run new wires all the way to the dash. Im not sure on the 97, but on my 98 speedster there is a hole up next to the pump that is threaded.

Thanks for the pic. It definitely will help!! One question, is that your port or starboard pump that the threaded hole is next to? BTW, nice ride:coolgleam:! I like the colors on the 98 you have way better than the pink/yellow/purple/green on mine.

Its the port pump. Other pump has the same threaded hole, its just not punched out on the inside of it. Thanks for the compliments.
