I have a 1997 Seadoo GTX. The motor has been replaced a while back, ran like a champ. Sat for about 2 years. Now it cranks just fine and idles. The probem is that it one the carbs seemed to be only at 50%. like it only has one carb. Every now and then it will kick in and take off, but for short period. I just replaced both carbs, all fuel, and oil lines and replaced both plugs. No change what so ever. Does the exact same thing. Anyone have a clue on what the issue could be. I'm so bummed I spent money on new carbs and wasn't the problem. Please if anyone has had the same issue please let me know what the solution is.

I had a very similar problem with my 96GSX this spring, it felt like it was running on one cylinder the all of a sudden it felt line the other cylinder would kick in, sounds familiar. I also though it was a fuel problem, turned out to be electrical. It was the rectifier/voltage regulator. It's inside the front electrical box, to test to see if this is your problem disconnect the red wire and see if this cures the problem. You battery will not charge with the red wire disconnected so be sure the battery is charged before you try this.

Here's a picture of what the rectifier looks like.

Sorry taken so long to respond. Been out of town. Thank you so much for the advice and the picture. Can't tell you how much it helps me to have pics. lol I'm getting ready to try it now. Will deffinatly let you know how it turns out.

unfortunatley did not make a difference. I'm possitive that somewhere or some how my mixture has gotten off. when i seperate the two carbs, the one closest to the front throttles like a champ, the other however does not throttle at all. it does seem to idle but nothing further. throttling just kinda boggs down, and back fires. Could the tie bar between the two be that off to make that happen. I know that they run hand in hand with each other, but i'm not experenced enough to know how one works off the other.

i have replaced both carbs with new ones actually. I'm now sorry i spent that money. But i thought for sure that was the problem.

found that the oil line to that carb was stopped up completely. Now i'm thinking that it may have burned the rings in that cylinder. The compression in that cylinder is noticebly less than the other. If anyone has anymore knowledge on the issue, it would greatly be appreciated.
