so my "tension" screw on my throttle cable on the carb end snapped in half.. really not sure how was tighten and it was still loose and just snapped.. throttle still works.. wondering if there a temp fix for this until i have a new cable come in.. or is there a permanent fix without replacing full cable?

Can you post a picture please.

I should of took a picture. Basically the bolt on the carb end broke in the middle the throttle cable stays in line tho just feels a little loose when push the actual throttle. I ordered a new on but hopefully I can ride like this for the weekend

No pic,,too bad,,I have never in my life, fractured any bolt,,,(10mm,,head),,,on any carb linkage...

I think it’s just a old cable and screw was rusted out most likely. Throttle works for now new one coming in this week.. any tips on install

Yes, make sure at full throttle, when the plates are vertical, that there is a bit of slack, (about 1/16 or so), so that there is no stress on the cable,,,and so consequently, at idle, there is a bit of slack just before you are going pull on the cable.,,you don't want a cable under constant stress,,,same for your choke,,,there should be slack on the cable,,,
