Trying to help my brother diagnose an issue that popped up with his '97 GTX.
We put a new impeller and wear ring in it this spring and took it up to the lake. It starts good and idles good but doesn't want to come up on the rpms right away. If you hit a good wave then the rpms come right up and away you go, until you let off the gas. Once you let off the gas it's back to slow dog until you hit another wave, then it takes off again. It ran fine last year other than cavitation from the bad impeller.
What might be affected by a good "jar" to the hull that would cause this?
