okay guys well the last 2 days me and my uncle have been dropping a 787 motor out of one of my xps i parted out, the motor had 150 psi on each plug and worked great so we got it all in and aligned yesterday. Also rebiult carbs and got pop off at 30psi on both,.... put them on today and the exhaust, also got the driveshaft on and jet pump.... basically its all back toghether guys. so we pulled choke and pushed start 2 times before it just started right up. well we hooked it to the water hose and it fired right up and we noticed the pisser was not shooting out any water we ran it for about 2 min on the water, they head felt pretty cool and the exhaust was kinda hot to the touch but not to bad, Before with the old moror that blew the pisser would shoot like 8 feet out with the water hose lol, no kinks were in the hose and it had plenty of pressure. so is this fine or should we look for something. thanks guys for al your help and everything i have read on here putting the engine in is cake now haha

Okay do u know why on the old motor that locked up it would shoot like 8 feet hooked to the garden hose I thought it was weird

Wellllllll........................

Since the hose is a "Back flush"... I'd say... to get that kind of pressure at the pee-hole... you had a blockage at the water intake. Couple that to a bad buzzer... and you overheated the engine.

I guess if you blow it and it shoots 8 feet your doin good but as for not wanting to shoot anymore that just come with age get used to it!!!!!! HAHAHA

I'm not a mechanic, but I'm pretty sure you are confusing his pisser with his injector pump

Okay thanks Dr. Maybe that's why the motor blew in first place the mag piston was burnt to hell cratered. But no joke w that other motor the pisser on the back would shoot 8 feet at least I just thought that was weird as hell. But now we don't got nothing coming out. I double checked all the hoses are hooked up.

I would make sure the cooling system is clear before going out on a real ride, but I never get much out the pee-hole on the hose since there arn't too many restrictions in the cooling system. (ie, low pressure on the hose)

TO EVERYONE ELSE.....

Hey guys... please keep the non-thread discussion to a minimum. I know we all like to have fun here... but that's what the off topic section is for. Or, if you are going to make a "Joke" comment... please also add a constructive comment too.

I'm not being mad, or upset... but I figure I would say something since the original poster had to make a comment about "No Joke intended."

Thanks.

Thanks man appreciate the help. Is there a way I can test the cooling system ?

Ya jokes don't bother me but I'm really wanting to get my prob of any at all fixed first lol.

sorry for messin guys and to BIGJAKE i got it the first time i was being sarcasic buddy but thanks for explainin lol haha just thought i would add that.

Sorry... there isn't a good way to "Test" the cooling system. The best check is to put it in the water. At idle... you should have a light trickle out the pee-hole, and the engine should be cool enough to the touch. A few years ago... I posted up some temps after a run... but I don't remember what the original post was. But as I recall... the head was around 180 by the spark plugs... and around 130 deg F everywhere else.

No probs. it's a like a big family here. I just wanted to get real questions answered first.

Doc, on a related note, after I run my skis a long time I'm kinda surprised that the tuned pipe, muffler, and all water hoses are cool to the touch. Is that normal? Is the cooling system that efficient? I thought things would at least be warm, but arent.

p.s I made the first joke, my bad.

okay guys well i guess that day we checked it we had a kink in the water hose and did not notice it, we checked it twice today and everything felt cooler i pulled all the water lines and blew threw them and they seemed good. so we tried it and we got a good stream coming out of the pisser now here im uploading a video now and will post it

brandon, pick up a shutoff valve at lowes/home depot for like $1.00 that goes on the end of your hose. that way you can verify water is flowing to the end of the hose before starting the ski. also much easier than running back and forth to the faucet when you start/stop the ski. I also have a 3' section of old garden hose with male connector on one end and female on the other end. It's much easier to attach that to the hose adapter on the ski then connect the garden hose with the shut off valve on it to the 3' ft hose.
