My GTX multi function gauge accidentally had water sit inside the housing, and, as a result, corroded the connections and melted the display off. Would I be able to replace it with a newer one, like an 03? They look a little bit different and some have the VTS display on it. Mine does not have VTS. I’ve also thought about removing it completely and buying a cheap GPS gauge to put in its place.

You'll need the exact year model unless you want to remove and replace plugs and such. This modle is getting really expensive. I think I'd opt for installing a fuel gauge. Good Luck

Get in touch with jess at westside. That is where I have picked up gauges. Ebay is another option. Get the number off the part and find the exact one.

If you get the wiring diagram for the gauge, and others, you will find that they all serve the same function, I have taken a gauge "that was wrong from an internet purchase, had the wrong connections/couplers",,and ended up cutting the wires down stream, and connected/matched them up,,,the only output that did not work was the digital speed output.
