Hello,
I wonder if someone might be able to give me a little insight on this. Before I purchased my 97 GTX, I crawled under the machine with a flashlight to look at the impeller, grate, etc. (as with the others). This one had a little abrasion markings around the impeller blade that has worn off the gel coat a bit. The impeller blades looked perfect though.
This concerned me, so I asked the seller about it. He informed me that at one time, it sucked in a bunch of sand, rocks, etc. (as one can probably assume) so he had to replace the impeller because it got all chewed up. On my first ride with it, I notice that it has excellent hole shot power (hits 7000 RPM instantly), but seems to gain speed somewhat slowly, almost like a car with a slipping clutch or something, and eventually maintains a speed of no more than 45 MPH.
Is this normal for this year GTX? If not, would it seem that the impeller pitch may just be slightly different with this one or is there something I overlooked regarding a impeller issue?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Brandon
