just recently bought 2 97 gsx's, both had been sitting for 2-3 years, anyway I put 2 new batteries in, new spark plugs, went through the carbs, drained the gas tanks and put fresh fuel in, neither one will start they both crank over fine, but will not fire, there is a 15A fuse in the front panel that keeps blowing and I am not sure what it is for, also the 12v low light comes on the info gauge, also when you plug the DESS key in it doesnt beep, I'd appreciate it if someone can shine some light on this problem

Did you check to see if you have spark? If spark then do you have compression? Always check to see if spark first, especially if it cranks . Low voltage might be from you trying to crank it over for a while

That lite comes on when you put the key in and after engine begins running on it own, it goes out.

15A. probly metal partical infiltration in Stator. Battery cables go bad from sitting,
they corrode internally at the lugs. They can be cut off and new lugs soldered on and marine shrink-wraped. You need to loosen front mount and prop up engine to get the cover open. Bill
