All right,, thanks for all the data,,, I bought this thing years ago and its never ran an entire season,, so I am in the process of really giving it some tlc that it has needed for years,, I may still pull the motor as it is loose anyway and I want to check the impeller and everything back there while I am in so deep,, I have a shop so I am not in the driveway :) Thanks so very much,, I will let you knowhow it turns out

If you do pull it, leave the mounts bolted to the hull. They will have shims underneath to align the engine to the pump. You should be okay if you leave them alone.

Ok Thanks,, I found the shims on the front one,, as I had to move the mount to get to bolt,, I will not undo the rear ones that attach to the hull

With the correct puller you can run it right against the end of the crank, tighten it up real good and give the bolt on the puller a good wack with a hammer, pop goes the flywheel. Watch for the small woodruff key. Get a used flywheel, they're like belly buttons on eBay, less than$20 shipped off you look long enough.

The mag has to be indexed correctly on the flywheel, you will see a hole in the flywheel and the pick ups on the side of the mag. I'll try and get a pic later tonight.

Ok Thanks,,, I think I know what your talking about as far as the hole goes, I am not having any luck with the easy out and the bolts left in the fly wheel,,,

is this a common issue with these watercraft?? seems a strange failure,, but it is sure allowing me to get to know the machine,, I am beginning to think some one long before was in as I have found strange things missing,, one of the bolts that holds part of the exhaust on,, just small thing,, things loose,, when it ran, the kids loved that machine.. So all the fuel lines are changed,, what else should I do while this thing is apart,,, the impeller appears to be in good shape and has no dings in it,, a little bit of an edge from use but looks good,, any thing I can do in this area while its out?

How about converting to a mixed oil machine? I am told that is what most do to the injection systems... I have not looked on the forum yet for this subject,

Most guys on the forum keep the oil injection, they are very reliable on the seadoo.
Other things to do
Check wear ring clearance, should be less then 1mm
Change jetpump oil. 75W90 full synthetic
Check carbon seal and SS ring condition, slide the SS ring off the shaft and check the conditon of the O rings.
Change oil filter
Clean\rebuild carbs
Add inline fuel filter
Cleans water separator and check condition of o ring.
Clean gunk out of bilge siphon pick-ups.
Grease PTO zerk fitting.
Clean Raves, check bellows for cracks\holes and condition of O rings.
Check condition of VTS boot.

That's all for now

On the mag, you should see some rust or dust where the big holes were. Thats the easiest way to line up the mag cup.

Tonka is right you can just align the holes, you can usually tell where it was but since your mag was sliding on the flywheel, I think, here's a pic. Find the key way, find the hole, find the edge of the protrusion on the mag and line them up.

Thanks for all the help,, I took the motor out and took it to a local guy that has parts and a puller.. He replaced the flywheel and stator as it was damaged also,, he had the puller I needed, I now have spark,!!

New issue, I have not reinstalled the carbs yet,, The guy that replaced the flywheel told me to replace the oil lines from the pump to the injectors.. He said something about priming them, I understand it needs to be done,, (I have not looked to see if there is a thread on this) How is this accomplished? I opened the pump with the cable and spun the motor a few times and nothing moved,,

And Racer X,, just for my future reference,, I could see how the mag cup used to mount, but there are two magnets on it,, I assume it does not matter which one is on which side as long as one lines up with the small hole in the fly wheel?

You take that little plastic piece that goes into the crankshaft and drives the pump, stick it into a drill and turn it. Refer to the manual for direction, as I forget (or just do trial/error). You'll have to have the pump hooked up to your oil line. As you turn the pump, open that valve on the oil pump (as if you were pressing on the throttle) to move more oil and speed up the process.

Pour a little 2 stroke oil down the carbs or spark plug holes hold the oil pump arm wide open and start the machine. Watch it full the lines up.
