I have pulled the cylinder heads, the Impeller moves, pulled the starter but I cannot get the crankshaft to move. I have clamped vice grip to the output shaft and it moves incrementally but that is the impeller moving. The pistons do not move what so ever.
Before I do anymore does anyone have an idea what may be the cause?
I have never worked on one of these before. Supposed to be only 20-30 hrs on the engine after a complete rebuild.
After looking at some other posts, and the engine it seems like it is solidly seized. Any hints about pulling the engine and to check if a bearing has seized? Can the bearings be changed without splitting the engine case?

Pull the starter, it the pto won't turn then pull the engine and take it apart or replace

Pulled the starter. No help.Pulled the engine. tt
After I pulled the Magneto cover, I put an extension handle on the ratchet and was able to get it to turn with alot of pressure. So something is putting a lot of drag on the crankshaft. I am hoping it is not rust.
Will try and split the case today.
Bill, Thanks for the reply!

did you pull the pump, to make sure it aint seized? If it is motor, pull the cylinders, but either way, you'll need to tear apart...sounds like piston came apart, and debris down in journal area.

Problem with whomever did rebuild, is that they didnt find the root "cause" of the motor to go, in the first place....nows a good time to go thru the carbs and replace the grey fuel lines, inspect the oil pump and the brass fittings, make sure there clear to squirt oil.
