Well today was my first day out wakeboarding on my 97 Challenger. I was able to get up but seems like it is really stressing the boat. It shoots quite a bit of smoke out of the back and feels like its working very hard. Is this normal/ok? I know you can spend quite a bit of money to add power etc but if you had to to make a list of things to do what would be the top 5 for the money? Thanks! Hopefully I can have some more fun boarding :)

your boat has a single 787 right?....just google solas impellers, you can upgarde the flame arrestors and your exhaust pipe. those 3 things will bring you up to atleast 1 k. Just remember once you start putting on HP parts your engine has to be a top condition .........I would just start with the impeller and go from there, check your wear ring also

I say go for the impeller and check the wear ring. Leave the engine alone. Flame arrestors you will need to re-jet the carbs or will run lean and kill the engine. Exhaust pipe is more noise no go.
