Hi fellas ! I'm (myself) a Marine mechanic .. bit I'm not specialized into jet boats/turbine powered machines .. mostly specialized into outboards and inboards with Alpha/Bravo drive systems. Ive rebuilted a few turbines before on some seadoo's XP and seadoo's boats (Challenger/sportster) .. but yesterday my boss came up asking me if I was able to fix/rebuild a turbine system for his little cousin and I said yeah no worries! Problem is +after inspecting the damn thing .. found out something is really strange, never seen that before, there's no fixed plate/mounting plate between the turbine housing and the Fiberglass hull !! Usually after removing the 4 bolts holding the housing , the whole unit comes out from the mounting plate .. but there's no plate ! Only the housing bolted to the hull itself sealed with silicone or 1304 kinda sealant ! Anyone knows wth is going on here ? Supposed to be a 1996 XP 600 .

Thanks
Chris

No such thing as a seadoo 600. If it’s s 96’ it’s a 787 AKA 800. The pump is sealed to the rideplate/shoe with a neoprene seal. The ride plate/shoe is siliconed to the hull.

We call it a jet pump not a turbine.

The info I've had from my boss was : 1996 xp600.. I've done research within the last hour and came up with the conclusion it's a 96 SPI ! About the turbine being called a jet pump then it's my bad !! I'm a French canadian, in French it's called a turbine so I thought it'll be the same in English lol . So basically I got to loosen the shaft prior to take the pump out right ?

If you want to take the driveshaft out to inspect or replace the driveshaft seal then you need to slite the stainless hat towards the rear and remove the c-clip or o-ring before removing the pump.

IF you don't want to inspect the driveshaft seal there is nothing you need to do to remove the pump. You might have to disconnect some hoses from the inside on that model.
