I think this one is a clean correct version.

This was the first one we did and it was almost a perfect fit, we have now worked out the bugs. I am shocked I never saw anyone else on the forum try this. I domt think I would have thought of it if i didnt have a 96 gtx steering stem sitting next to a 95xp steering stem.

How do you achieve that? I want to do it in my GS...

You have the correct bar cover and pad already, you just need to get the correct automotive paint with the adhesion promoters and flex agents. I see your in PR but if you visit a local bodyshop they might be able to set you up.

Nope, just waiting to finalize the ski. Down to the wire, going out Memorial day weekend. The old man is running the XP and I'm on the HX. Nothing like putting my 74 YO father on my fresh ski! I just picked up a 2 place trailer, working on a members 99 Challenger (two engines, pumps, the works!) so that has been consuming my time lately, it's looks sweet though and has to get done.

Cool... Have been workin on my spx and hoping to get get out Memorial Day weekend also... Good luck on projects!!

Just scrolled through this thread. WOW what a transformation. I like that it went from factory resto to full on resto-mod. Great work!!!

Thanks Flying! I just sorted out my charging problem, damn rectifier was shot all of a sudden. Whatever, hope to dunk it this weekend if time permits.

In the ever evolving resto mod here's one more change. Since getting my chops busted by Spim months back on the purple I caved in. Actually, I had an annoying oil drip that took me a while to track down, it was the return from the RV cavity on the exhaust side. And since my had couldn't fit in there to remove the line and fix it, I removed the entire exhaust and realized it would look better in a gray-ish color. That brought me to Jetskigoodies bro-in-laws build and I liked the Duplicolor Graphite paint, then hit it with the Duplicolor clear. Anyway, off to the pics.
Spim, this change is for you:thumbsup:

Looks Awesome ! Great work xxx

So much for that stock look lol. Looks great now everything goes. So glad you got rid of that purple. It is funny though, you get rid of the purple on your xp and I added a purple motor on my 96 xp.

Yeah, it does really gel now. And I put that clear on top and that really makes the paint pop. Might have to do the HX over the winter.

Did a little body art today. I traced the XP logo's on a 95 XP I picked up and made a stencil and cut that out with a straight blade. THen I traced that on the back of carbon fiber. Then cut those out with a new straight blade. It was too much yellow on the ski and needed to break it up a bit. I only have about 2 hours wrapped up in it. It looks pretty good, I think.

Not being picky... (yes I am).. .That CF would look sick with a black shadow effect. Kinda plain with just the CF..

Not being a hater. Love the symmetry between the two of your rides!

I totally agree on the shadow, I don't have any black vinyl though, perhaps that can be version 2.0.

Thanks Spim. I still have the stencil.......... I pull the cover up everyday just to take a peek at it. I made a stencil of the BOMBARDIER by the storage bin, but that is a motha humper to cut by hand, I gave up for now.

Looks fantastic!!

The Bombardier logo up front would look great along with the SEA-DOO hull logo. On top of all that, I think if you wrap the hood in cf and throw a UMI on... perfect!!
