Where did you buy them? How DI you remove the one under the rub rail?

Got mine from seadoo.
got the valve and the rubber gromet too.

I didn't remove mine at first. I took the line that was going to it off of the sending unit in the gas tank while I was changing the fuel lines.

then I tried blowing through it and nothing happened. so I tried a can of compressed air and a bunch of crap came out of it and then it was just open.

So I pushed the fitting back through the hull to the inside with a screw driver since I didn't care if I broke it and then pull the gromet out.

Installing it can be a pain though!

This sucker blows the dang cap off when I start unscrewing it

Weahter the vent is good or not, I am wondering how soo much pressure can get built up in that tank. From what I know the only thing that will pressurize that tank to the extent you describe would be heat. I don't think these skis give off enough heat to get that kind of pressure. Am I missing something? Is there something else that will build up that pressure?

I have no idea, but you can visually see it swell up huge. When you release the gas cap it blows it off

I'm really kicking myself for not cleaning the tank when I put the engine in. Because I am now doing it! I pulled the tank and baffle, I saw all kinds of crud in my dang inline filter! The gas tank was disgusting! I made a rookie mistake by not pulling the tank before hand, now I'm going to have to pull the carbs again too

Hey at least you found something :P

For why it would swell that much,
Take a cold tank of gas and shake it up, then warm it up just a bit and you will get that kind of expansion.

The hull does get warm enough, just not HOT like other machines.
That valve is supposed to Stop that from being able to happen. Its there so that you only get a small pressure differential.
What was it? 1.5 psi ?

That dang float had become saturated with fuel I guess and would not float. It feels like cork or something, I'm not sure why they would use that

Dont want to start a debate but he's in GA, the gas wont be cold to start with. Thats what makes me curious, I dont think the temp difference is big enough to get that much pressure.

Actually, there is a factory pipe on there, do those pipes get hotter then the OEM tuned pipe, thus creating more heat inside the hull.

Gas cans in my garage build up pretty good pressure actually. This time of year, cool nights and hot days. I noticed the pressure in the tank first while it was just sitting in my garage
