I have a 96 XP that I just rebuilt the carbs, when I installed that carbe I turned it over once and then on the 2nd try it would not turn over and there is no power on any of the gauges. It is like the key just quit working. Any ideas on what might have happened?

Give this a shot.

i would start by checking the fuses in your Mpem or the Gray box in the front of your ski next to the gas tank. Take it apart and check the fuses. If all fuses are goo start checking connections. if you find that there are no loose connections move on to the rear electical box and see if a wire came loose off the starter relay. You can also check the relay by using an volt meter and mesuare the voltage across it start by getting voltage from the battery usually about 12.6volts next leave to voltmeter tied in to the ground and take the red off the battery and see if your getting the same on the one side with the wire connected to the battery hit the start botton and move the red wire to the other side of the relay and you should go from zero to about equal to the pevious test if you do you might have relay problem or something with your starter.

Thanks, I will try tomorrow and do what you said. I did pop the cover of the rear electrical box that holds the starter relay and it was full of water. I jumped this relay and the ski did turn over.
