Not wanting to be too wordy but....I'm the lucky guy to fix sons g/f family machine after other "friend" borrowed machines and trashed and couldn't fix. He dropped a screw in the intake and tried the starter and it made a effort to guillotine the screw across the opening rotary valve and stripped the teeth on the gear off and filled the bottom with bronze shavings. Nice huh? Got things fixed and new gear etc. Opened the box up front and the pigtail group from mag/stator to the box found a cut or broken wire and two disconected from the mag. of the three solid yellows. Here is my question. Three solid yellows come from the mag into the rectifier in the box and if you look at the backside at the connector at the mag they have numbers 1,2,3. Also there are three wires that feed to the cdi (#4)black,(#5)yellow/white,(#6)black/yellow. Now for the fun part to do without pictures, the three yellows from the mag to just inside the box to rectifier had one male bullet one female and the cut. Since it's no longer idiot proof for me and the "friend" can't remember how it goes but he thought it had two of one style male or female...logic says the cut one goes back together but not so because he may have cut two different wires and putting a test lead won't get it to do anything but light and do wakeup at the dash. Will not engage starter. Can anyone with the same machine give me a heads up on the correct three yellows to rectifier.I've added abc to the next line. At the rectifier it has from left (a)yel, red,(b)yel,(c)yel. What is the order or number/letter match for the three yellows from the mag? Sample..1=a 2=b etc. Thanks in advance for any help
