Hello all I'm new to the forums and new to seadoos. I've purchase 2 a 97 GSX and this 96 XP. Just as title says the XP cut in and out at WOT.I know all about the grey fuel lines and if that is the problem I will wait till the off season (which is coming soon here in Canada) and swap them out and clean carbs. I was told it has a new engine with 3 tanks of fuel through it (the seller had all paper work for it to show me).
Well when I put it in water it ran good except for the cutting out at WOT but if I run it about 3/4it runs fine. My high jets where open about a 1/8 of a turn so close them up but no change. Took out the Rave valves to clean and to my surpise neither one had the inner sping and the PTO valve didnt even have a rubber seal. Also I noticed the red adjuster scerw was scerwed down most of the way? Why would anyone take out the spring? Put them back in after cleaning and it seem to run much better almost know cutting out (maybe none it got alot rougher out so maybe it just seemed like it).
I didnt stay out long because those missing springs got me worried now. What can get damaged running it like this?
