I pulled the mats and reg numbers. The gel was super dark under the numbers.image.jpg
I've started wet sanding with a 320 grit and plan to step up to 800 then 1200, 1500, 2000, 3000
I haven't considered taking off the rub rails but with Adams thread I now know I can get the rivets I might pull them off

Your wasting time over 1500, 320 to 800 is took big of a jump, you need to hit in between the 800 first. Pulling the rub trail is the only way to go. I've done a few x4 restos that by the time I'm done taping and being careful not to mess up the rails it's just easier to remove them.

I've been working on one without removing the rub rails. It's a biotch. My gel coat was not uber faded. I'm contemplating changing my decision on not removing them.

If your talks are not smooth and are Sun damaged then you can leave them. But if they are it's easiest to do the lacquer thinner clean up with them off.

Ok so after wet sanding I used a diamond cut compound two coats. One coat of swirl remover. And then a nice paste wax. Turned out really good. I didn't do under the bumper rails yet maybe tomorrow.

Everything turned out great with the rest of the wet sanding
Now to work on the hood I'm going to paint to match the ski
I've ordered the replica graphics
I've ordered a jet trim seat cover
I went to install my jet dynamics intake grate and found a broke bolt in one of the holes does anybody know the size tap I need for the intake bolts (when I bought the ski it didn't have a intake grate)

Here is what you need for your hood, skip the paint. Scrub the hood with the scrub pad and the soft scrub. Rinse really good. Do it until it looks uniform as best you can then wipe it down really good with lacquer thinner quickly and then finish it up with the wipe new.

The tap is an M6-1.0

Good luck I got a nos badge from @ jetskigoodies pretty sure it was his last one. They appear on ebay every so often. It's looking good.

What are you doing with your handle bars?
Kind of lost of what you are looking for..

Jetskigoodies I'm pretty sure didn't have any badges left.

I put a WTB ad out for a nos yellow Seadoo splash guard. I forget who had it though. I think I paid $35

Ok to clarify I'm sending my oem handlebar cover to Racerxxx so his guy can clean it up, but it's not in mint condition so I'm going to use it until I can find a UMI steering setup for this unit image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Probally could give it a try but the word is racers guy does a really good job, and the price is more than fair in my opinion.

It's weird. The mold is actually deep in the pad. Zippo lighter fluid and a scrubber or whatever Dans guys uses has to get rid of layers of pad. I used zippo fluid and a scrub pad. The mold is deep
