96 xp. 2 beeps not stater turn

ok just got a 96 xp the other day when i put the dess on the post i get 2 beeps and then when i press the start button the low voltage light flashes. i have a brand new battery, completly disconected the vts from the front eletrical box, and when i jump the soilnoid the motor turns. the PO just paid 1500 to get a coolent line fixed so i know it was getting water in the hual. i'm just stomped at this point and need some help from men wiser than myself lol

When the motor spins do you get spark at the *plugs?
replace the solenoid after you rule out the battery cables by load testing.

yes i do. battery is new and charged tested it with my matco tester. the solenoid looks newish. the PO said it just stopped on the water, would a solenoid just go bad and make the whole ski die out?

well mine did the same thing, the ski would not start at all i could touch the prongs and it would turn over, so i replaced the soliniod and it worked great, also looked new, but dont really matter what it looks like it could just go out

ok did some poking around with the test light this afternoon, and when i hit the start switch not power goes though the solenoid. but i have power on the so called "magic" yellow and red wire that runs to the solenoid when i hit the start switch. so i'll pick up a new one tomorrow and see what happens then.

gotta be the solenoid...or good chance the ground wire is rotten due to the water in the hull.

ok so the PO had a msd solenoid on there and who ever did it cut the factory plug. plus they are 40 bucks more than an oem replacement. so is it worth it?

so my new solenoid gets here today. i ordered an oem replacement kit to covert back to the factory setting. i'll put it in tonight and let you guys know the out come.
