96 spx leaking oil pump check valves

I have been working on the 96 spx I picked up. When I started to work on it I found the engine full of oil. I pulled the engine and ran a compression test and it has 150 psi on both cylinders. Doesn't look like its ever been apart and the previous owner said it has low hours. I made some plates for the carbs and exhaust and pressurized it to 5 pounds. It kept dropping and I couldnt find a leak and as I was squirting bubble soap I see bubbles coming out of the oil inlet to the oil pump. I googled it and I find there are check valves in the banjo fittings and they might be leaking. Is this a good diagnosis and where can I find new ones. I see old ones on ebay but I dont want to pay money for old parts.

I would think this should be an accurate diagnosis. I’m thinking you could install an oil line from one banjo fitting to the other and try your leak down test again. If it holds pressure you have your culprit. Also you could do a leak down test on the RV cavity while your there. I believe the 717 and 787 differ in regards to the check valve, I think one of them has the check valve on the oil pump and one has it on the fitting on the rotary valve cover? Maybe you could jog my memory?
Have you checked OSD for those banjo fittings? Pretty sure I seen them there before

I agree with Burt, check OSD Marine. You can always ask Nick at OSD, he’s incredibly knowledgeable and a super nice guy.

Nice ski! I had a 96 SPX before I got my 787s. It was a ton of fun and always reliable.

I ordered the whole kit from Osd. While
I have everything ready how do I check the inner crank seals?
The procedure is in the manual but it’s pretty simple. Just put your air into the RV cavity from the oil feed hose fitting that goes to it and block the vent fitting on the exhaust side of the engine. You better check k the manual for pressure, I can never remember without looking, I think it’s around 5 pounds or so.
