96 spx idle adjustment question

I know that the idle on my spx is too low (like that when i bought it). If i give it a touch more throttle...its much smoother and no noise. My question is, if i raise the idle a bit, is that going to drastically change my low speed mixture? Like should i also be re adjusting my low speed adjustment screw along with bumping up the idle.
Thanks!

No, just get your idle where you want the make sure the oil pump is still within adjustment by aligning the two marks.

The low speed adjustment is to help you get a smooth idle at a particular RPM. These SPXs didn't have reverse, so a faster idle, while smoother, can be tough to deal with around docks. It should be around 1500rpm in the water. If you want to just bump it up, and are okay with the speed it goes, adjusting the throttle stop screw is okay. But you might be able to make it run smoother by reducing how much fuel it consumes at idle and turn the low adjuster in a touch. Keep in mind that it can take a little while to notice this adjustment though.
