I have '96 seadoo sportster that will not start. I connect the key and get the 2 beeps...I shift into neutral (throttle moved to bottom) and when I push the start button, it get 4 short beeps. I do not get the 1 beep saying it is in neutral. I had this same problem a few weeks ago...I continued switching it in and out of neutral and finally got the single beep and it started...it ran fine for 3 days, about 15 starts. We brought it home and it sat for a week...now it is doing the same thing. I tried replacing the neutral switch below the shift lever and that did not fix it....any ideas? We have a trip planned in 4 days and repair shops around here are swamped and can't work on it until next week....UGGGGHH!

sorry couldn't find fix in manual.
you are correct in sequence of beeps.

Keep playing with shifter and maybe take things apart again and check the wires. may be a pin or wire is loose??

Hope to hear you got it fixed. stealers are a rip off for a reason

just because you replaced the nuetral switch doesn't mean the new switch is good either. i have bought new things only to find out they didn't work and i had to get another. just my though.

My 96 won't start either. Engine won't turn over. Does anyone know the location of the fuel filter? Do these boat have oil filters?
