Hi All

New to the Forum, and new to jetboats, but lots of time spent on the water, anywhoo......... I just picked up this boat and am learning about it, first time out got water in the cockpit right away when I launched it. Water seemed to go when on plane but came back when not zipping about.

I checked it out and it appears that the drain right under the driver's seat goes directly into a hose that in turn goes to a thru-hull at the transom where there seems to be a little flapper valve, sort of a two-layered thing-a-ma-jiggie, looks as though when your moving about there probably should be a low'pressure area behind the transom and the valve is supposed to open and water would be sucked out, then when you slow it's supposed to close off and you shouldn't get any water back in.

Is there more to this system and is there anything to look for or do with the little flapper valve to make it more effecient?

Thanks

Chandler

Thanks Seadooya for the quick response, now I see after searching the forum that this is a fairly common problem.

One thing I'm not sure of is: When the boat is on plane is the scupper valve above the water line allowing the ball to drop off the seal and thus letting the cockpit drain?

Thanks again

Chandler
