Help please.. my Speedster 1996 don't run fasters than 2500 rpm in the port side motor and 3000/3500 rpm in the starboard. How could I reset off the rev limiter?? I'll appreciate any help. Cap. Cuéllar Veracruz MX

Hi,

I had the same problem with the 1995, it needs to be in Forward gear. The rev limiter is for neutral, so it isn't blasting away with zero load.

My guess is there is a "forward" switch connected to the throttles, somewhere.

Good luck!

Thanks, yes, in the case of my Speedster, they already modified the neutral switch and put a rat-tail switch on the side wall below the control. I already checked its operation and it works fine, it has two cables, one yellow with red (I suppose it's the limiter cable) and another black (ground). I already tried it in both positions (on and off) without result. This boat also had a jumper in the oil tank gauge connector since they removed it. I put in a float/level gauge and inverted it so that it would give me a full oil level signal, it didn't work either. I also "blocked" myself. Please, any suggestion is very helpful. Thanks to everyone.
