I have a 96 speedster and am in the process of replacing both wear rings and hoses seals etc.. The one came a parts and went together fine (thanks to the sticky on how to found here). The second one the impeller bolt was extremely tight and had a tough time getting apart. I had to put it in the vise with a 4ft pipe and 3ft breaker bar. Before removing is noticed the proper moved about 3/8 to 1/2 of inch in and out of the housing. The other side was tight not doing this. The side with this issue was my worse cavitation side. The thrust washer measure about half the thickness of the one replaced on the other side. I have new one so I re-assembled and found that with the new washer I could not get the bolt tighter than snug before the prop would stop turning. I have looked at the needle bearing and it appears ok. I have looked at the prop and do not see anything there. No wear marks inside the housing by the fro seal area either. Any one have any suggestions please let me know.
