Hey guys...need a little help. I had the speedster out on the lake Monday and everything was going great. Then..the port side engine quit and would not fire up. I limped back to the pier and loaded her up and took home. I had tried many times before loading and she wouldnt start. When I got home I tried again on the trailer and after a few tries she started. I just tried again and all it would do is sit there and turn over. Its got new plugs and Ive never had an issue. I am low on fuel but I put it on reserve and the starboard engine fired right up. I think Im going to fill er up with fuel and see if that night be a problem. I have no funny sounds or anything like that. Just wondering if Im encountering a problem. Any suggestions would be helpful as I am headed for a long weekend the 12th of this month.

I guess I was low on fuel. I pulled the flame arrestor off and dropped a few shots of gas in the carbs and she fired right up. I dont have a hose hookup so I let her run for about 15 seconds or so and seemed to run fine. I will take to local lake and see how she runs today or tomorrow. Hopefully it will run ok from here on out.

Not totally done...took to lake yesterday. Had to give it gas (which Ive never had to do) to get it to crank. After cranked it ran fine for like 15 mins. Then the lanyard popped off after a big wave and it died. WELL...here we go!!! It wouldnt crank back to save my life. Load it on the trailer, go home hit the start buttom and BOOM...she fires right off. Almost sounded like it was flooded. Who knows..I guess I have a fueling issue eventhough it is running when it cranks. I think Im gonna run the piss out of it this weekend and maybe blowout any trash, etc if it will crank. Any ideas???

Still wont turn over. I finally got in and checked the fuel lines. They have already been changed. Round black line with about 1/4 (id). They are not clogged or gummed. I pulled both sides off the carbs and had flowing gas. I choked the carbs down with a rag and it fired. Then I went to the local lake (no hose fitting) and got over there and wouldnt crank to save my life choking it down and all. I guess I have a carb issue. Not too comfortable in fooling with the carbs they look like a pain to even take off. Anyway, I guess my next move is to take it somewhere unless someone knows any tricks. Thanks for reading.

Im at a loss!!! I dont know whats up. Ive broke down to the carbs. They are fine and and Im getting fuel. It acts like its not wanting to fire. I put in new plugs and checked them and I am getting fire. It just spins over and over acting like its not getting fire. Even pouring gas directly into the carb this time still wont crank. Just turning over to the point of almost killing the battery. Im baffled...could it be a fuse somewhere??? I guess I will bits thw dust and take it somewhere. Any suggestions. Starboard engine still fires right up no problem.

I have a 99 speedster.....Three days ago the exact thing happened. I have it in my driveway and will be tearing it apart tomorrow... Let me know if you find anything... ( mine is acting like it is over fuelling all of a sudden) Thanks

I have a 98 speedster twin 787....Starboard side engine cranks good ,fuel in cylinders but no sparrk. I am in the process of running the electrical. There is a water proof box with ignition ( plug wires) and main power wires running out of it.... I opened it up.. In side, follow the main power wire. Off it runs a small gfauge red wire follow it for 2 inches and it goes into a another water tight connector. Open that connector and you will find a 15 amp fuse....See if that is blown. Mine was blown. It didn't help my spark but it might help yours.
